The complete spike specific Antibody testing service for Covid-19.
Each kit contains everything needed to test one person’s immunity level against Covid-19 once.
The BioCard™ is uniquely optimised to detect the complete potential response to a which includes the S1 and RBD sections of the spike protein (not just the RBD).
If past infection has occurred and triggered spike-specific IgG antibodies, the Covid-19 BioCard™ also detects spike IgG that binds to the additional S2 section of the spike protein.
The Covid-19 BioCard™ detects longer-term IgG antibodies, without erroneous test results from either nonspecific nucleoprotein antibodies, or short-term IgA or IgM antibodies.
Separating the signal enables each test to be compared to the last, so you can reveal how stable your own individual immunity is.
The service comprises:
Once you return your sample and create your online account, we will let you know the progress of your test results and upload your results for you to view. We will also email these updates to the email address you chose to register when you activate your account.
To help guide you every step of the way, we will also provide you with a guide, so you know what to do in a simple, clear way.
You don’t need anyone to visit your home to take the blood, but it is sometimes helpful if you have someone to hand if they live within your household.
It remains important to note that not everyone who is vaccinated or infected necessarily generates spike-specific antibodies. The BioCard™ can reveal this if that is you. Knowing may mean you choose to accept a booster if offered, or if no booster is available, understanding your immunity means you are aware of your higher risk and can take precautionary measures.
If you have access to a phlebotomist, you can send us samples from venous bloods, however please contact customer services for instructions and be sure to use a ‘gold’ cap tube.
The Booster Response pack is a twin pack containing enough to use the service twice.
The concentration of spike specific antibodies (or level) of immunity is critical to preventing vaccine breakthrough, by resisting the virus if exposed.
This pack can be used to establish your immunity level prior to a booster, (a baseline), so that your immunity level can be established before the effect of the booster is administered.
Once the booster has been received, the second test can then be used at the appropriate time to see if there is a change in your level of immunity as a result of the booster.
For example, your level pre-booster may be 3 and subsequently, level 8. The increase of 5 can be attributed to the booster, and the peak level recorded becomes a historical record to future reference. This value becomes important, as you can then monitor that level to establish how quickly it wanes (see Monitoring Packs).
If using the service to see if past infection has occurred, then the first test would establish if immunity to SARS-CoV-2 has been established, and the second can then be used later to either reveal how stable the level found is. If a vaccine has never been administered, a positive result will also strongly indicate past infection with any variant of Covid-19.
The actual BioCard™ used for testing is the same, it’s simply 2 single packs in one order.
